"I can highly recommend it to anyone either wanting some self development or for those seeking a career change"
Over the years I have always had an interest in all things health, especially nutrition. As I have gotten older I discovered yoga and meditation, and although I loved the idea of meditation it was not something that came easily to me. It was on this journey that I discovered Qigong quite by accident and instantly fell in love. Along my journey over the years I’ve always wondered if I could or should retrain and do something that I loved, the obvious choice was yoga but the more I explored this idea the more that it just didn't feel quite right, something was missing. I then discovered Qigong but then it was more about timing than anything, with a busy schedule at work I put retraining to the back of my mind yet again. Fast forward to March 2020 and the whole world went into lockdown and almost overnight I suddenly had the time to commit to learning a new skill. I did not want to waste away my new found time so immediately took the plunge and signed up for the Tier 1 Online Teaching Training.
The personal journey I have taken has been so enlightening that I wished I’d discovered this years ago, although also what it has taught me is that it only presents itself to you when the timing is right. The main thing for me has been the meditative side of the practice, being able to quieten the mind through movement, and also the peace that comes with feeling the energy and dropping straight into being present - something I had struggled with for a long time, now I can see that it is accessible to me whenever I need or want it. As well as a personal journey and achievement I'd love to think that this is going to be a great crossover career and take me into semi-retirement, that is the plan anyway but let's see what the universe has in store!
It seems only yesterday that I signed up for the course but here we are 9 months later, I have just passed the course and gained my certification to become a certified Lee Holden Qigong practitioner. Studying again in your 50’s can be quite daunting but I didn’t feel daunted because the course is broken down into very manageable sections, also the fact that it is self paced means there is a lot less pressure to meet deadlines and keep up. It has been a wonderful experience, and I can highly recommend it to anyone either wanting some self development or for those seeking a career change, either way, you will learn so much not only about yourself but the universe and everything in it. It’s truly wonderful!
