Beyond Fasting

“The teachings, explanations, logic and support from Ronan left me amazed”

Unfortunately, I am morbidly obese. And when I signed up for the 28 days Intermittent Fasting challenge, I had a deflated gastric band due to side effects such as dysphagia. Before the challenge started I received a letter from hospital to book a surgery for the gastric band removal. It broke my expectations about it because they had a pre-operative diet that wasn't appealing and felt difficult to deal with, specially working shifts. Nevertheless, I started the challenge.

Why? Because I have heard about IF and I wanted to understand if it was feasible for me, or even help me release excess weight.

Considering that the pre-operative diet started at the same time, it was almost a relief to only eat in an 8 hours window. But above all, the teachings, explanations, logic and support from Ronan left me amazed. And the fact that we had a strong tribe in the same journey and with a lot of support for each other. That's why I continued most of the 28 days in IF although I had shifts, which I have learned how to readjust hours, and a surgery in between.

I did lose some weight, but cannot totally affirm it was only due to IF. [...]

Still, I see myself returning to IF later in the year, knowing that I have a tribe to rely on and an enthusiastic teacher which provided ridiculous amount of knowledge is worth more than gold.
