"I was able to forgive my girlfriend for an action that made me very sad"

I am just starting MindValley training. I was a little confused 6 days ago, my knowledge of English was far from perfect. Yesterday I followed the theme on forgiveness, during the live exercise but I had no significant results but I woke up very early this morning feeling very strongly the emotion that I had tried to eradicate. I put into practice what Kristina taught us. I felt soothed and I was able to forgive my girlfriend for an action that made me very sad. Needless to say, I started the day with a lot of enthusiasm.
