The reason I enrolled in this Quest was to focus on strength training. What I was hoping to achieve/learn was to discover whether or not I still had pain on my right shoulder when placing loads through exercises. I have not done this in 10 years. In the last 10 years, I engaged in yoga and dance top maintain my fitness.
Reasons why I recommend this Quest is because this is not only about physical health but it's also about mental health. Looking after my body has given me a greater resiliency and determined attitude to tackling life's challenges.
Areas of my life in which I’ve noticed the biggest changes are my capacity to lift loads, grow and continually improve.
My top 3 takeaways or insights during/after finishing this Quest are that it doesn't matter how old you are, the body responds in positive ways with some structure and consistent effort, that accountability helps to move you towards your goals and that it doesn't take too much time to create change.
The biggest positive change(s) I’ve noticed is my biceps and shoulder strength returning and my dietary change to include more protein (I was previously vegan and now have changed to include fish, eggs and meat once/month).
