Hi everyone! To introduce myself, here's how I discovered the Silva Method and the long-winding road that led me to share this incredible experience with all of you here.
Like Vishen, I took a Silva Method course in my early teens, about 30 years ago, in my native Caracas, Venezuela. And, like Vishen, it had a massive impact on me. I can fairly say that with Wayne Dyer's seminal book "Your Erroneous Zones," the program kickstarted my personal development journey, which has continued more or less consistently until today.
But like Vishen, I couldn't stick to the system long enough to rip its full benefits back then. But I did achieve some remarkable results that cemented my belief in the metaphysical powers of the mind. I learned to find the location of lost objects in meditation. I learned to make my hand levitate at will without using muscular strength to raise it. I developed the ability to wake up without an alarm at a specific time. I used the method with quite a bit of success to study for exams.
As years passed, I explored many other personal development paths, specifically several meditation traditions and metaphysical systems. But it wasn't until 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, that I achieved a few significant breakthroughs. I managed to manifest a 5x increase in my income, and last year I manifested the purchase of a fabulous, gorgeous home that my wife and I were obsessed about.
Despite these successes, I felt that to take the next step in my spiritual and self-growth journey, I needed a more systematic approach to harness the powers of the mind. A gut feeling told me I should go "back to basics" somehow, but I didn't know exactly what that meant.
Then a few days ago, I was reading a book about the benefits of sleep. It has a chapter on the history of sleep research that talks about the invention of the EEG machine and Alpha, Delta, and Theta brainwaves.
It immediately reminded me of the Silva Method, which had been relegated to a rather recondite corner in my mind. I don't know why, but I subconsciously classified it as obsolete despite the fond memories. Still, I was suddenly struck with an epiphany of sorts, a feeling that perhaps after all these years of dabbling in a myriad of techniques, what I really needed was reigniting the very first and most fundamental metaphysical tools I learned as a teenager. Perhaps this was what my initial urge to go "back to basics" was all about it.
I contacted the Silva Method organization here in Spain, where I live. I was about to buy a ticket for the introductory course as I could not find my graduate credentials in Venezuela after all these years. But while I was searching for a bit more information about Silva, I came across one of Vishen's most recent talks about the method. He had been on my radar for quite a while now, but I had no clue that Silva had been THE fundamental and very first system that set him off on his journey.
And that absolutely stroke a chord. I immediately felt identified and decided to give Mindvalley a try. So far, I'm mind-blown by the overall experience with the platform and Vishen's angle teaching the Silva Ultramind system.
Can't wait to get started and share this journey with you all!
