"How can I thank a man for giving me all the things in life I now have which I thought were impossible a mere few years back?"

I used to struggle with severe anxiety, depression and mild OCD. Having been on and off anti-depressants for years I didn’t think they were actually helping.
I remember the Hypnotic World of Paul McKenna being one of my favourite programmes when I was about 10, so when I came across your book I Can Make You Confident, I bought it and hoped for the best.
Boy, did it work!
I was working in an office selling insurance at the time aged 26 and was particularly miserable thinking there was no way out. Having read the techniques in your book, (some particularly simple ones - laugh, exercise, think positive thoughts) I read and re-read how to ‘prepare the confidence habit’, how amazing our minds actually are, and learnt that I had been talking to myself negatively all these years.
Running the movies in my mind and using my body differently, as well as having self-belief helped me to overcome overwhelming situations. I’ve learnt that inner strength is real confidence and that anyone shouting out about their achievements are probably more insecure than even I was.
I found my thoughts were beginning to change. I no longer felt shy, or at the mercy of the universe. When I had a negative thought of “I can’t”, before it took root I found it was being replaced with “I can!” and “I will!”
I sacked the office job off and went back into education. The mere thought of having to get up in front of people to do a presentation would simultaneously give me a panic attack followed by making me depressed at the thought of not being able to do it.
However, I completed an English degree, had a short story published and finished a CELTA course earlier this year which involved getting up I in front of a class and teaching adults.
I have now been offered a job teaching English in Thailand which I start in July.
Medication for anxiety and depression is not the answer. Your book was the answer. For me, at least.
How can I thank a man for giving me all the things in life I now have which I thought were impossible a mere few years back?
All I can say is, I have so much gratitude ? thank you, thank you, thank you!
My name is Mike. I’m 34 and teach English in Thailand (or will do, in two months’ time!)
