I realized 6 months ago that sticking to a "diet" where I deny myself certain foods was only sustainable for 2 - 3 months, then my will power would fizzle out and I'd start eating carbs and sugars again and put the weight back on and more. So I'd pretty much given up on ever losing the excess weight I'd put on over the past 25 years. What especially annoyed me was my recent "muffin top" from hitting menopause! And in the last year I'd figured out (with no help from my doctor) that I've been dealing with Fibromyalgia symptoms for likely 15-20 years – aching shoulders, brain fog, anxiety, and low energy to mention a few concerns. I was not going to accept the excess weight and health issues as a normal part of aging. My mom just turned 95 and I needed to do something to turn back my clock because some days I felt like 80 (I'm 50). I didn't want my next 40+ years to be a slippery slope downwards!
Here are my results so far… My cravings for sugar & carbs have reduced significantly. I don't feel starved when I haven't eaten in awhile and I'm eating a LOT less food because I'm getting the nutrition from all the greens in the Alkagizer.
Although a fast may seem scary to WildFit newcomers, the 3 day green smoothie & water fast really kick-started the fat burning for me. I'm gearing up to do it again to continue my progress. With the way WildFit is designed, this "lifestyle" is easy compared to other programs I'd done, because we did preliminary work to give ourselves the control over our mind chatter to stick with it. And it's not reliant solely on will power. On WildFit I've eliminated the bulk of the foods that have been aggravating the inflammation and Fibromyalgia symptoms and I know I will continue to improve. And I"m delighted my "muffin top" and butt are MUCH smaller!!! My face has got more colour too.
I really appreciated the daily videos and the live calls for support and to ask individual questions. The whole concept of "seasons" makes so much sense. I loved all the research Eric has done and shared with us on the program. His knowledge about how we've been "marketed to" (brainwashed) by big corporations was really enlightening! It's all about their profits and has nothing to do with our health!
I've still got a ways to go to hit my ideal size, but I now have the skills to maintain a healthy lifestyle for the long term -- no more yo-yo dieting anymore!!! If I do indulge ("treat myself" — badly), I pay attention to how I feel before, during and after indulging and it's usually not worth the empty calories and tummy rumbles afterwards.
