To begin with: I am 35 years old right now and I consider myself genetically lucky when it comes to memory since everyone in my family has a strong memory, even in advanced ages. Other than dates and facts (numerical quantities) I personally rarely forget something. Nevertheless, I can give myself the comfort of relying on genetics. The reason is: I have to be global player! I am mechanical engineer in one of the world's most famous car producers in Germany. So, to begin with: I earn my life with my brain. I am turkish by nature, born and grew up in Izmir, on the agean coast of Turkey, then studied mechanical engineering in Germany and have been living there over 10 years. In 2018 I got the task for the qualification of the local employers in our new factory in Mexico and I moved to there as expat. That means for me, in addition to my mother tongue, english and german I had to master spanish in the most possible short term. But exactly here was the challenge: I realised very quickly my learning speed and focus are not as good as they were before. Obviously "hear a new word, speak it out twice, write it down 5 times, et voilà" was working anymore. So that made me think: If my learning skills changed like this from 15 to 35, how will be the progress from 35 to 65? It is the reason why I am here. Very soon I will celebrate my bday and decided to invest on this program as this year´s gift to myself. And also I promised myself, if I personally would get an added value from this program, I will teach all what I learnt to my colleagues here before I leave Mexico. =)
