"I was hooked after the first intro video"

Hello everyone, I’m Johnny “Keoni” Martinez. Let me tell you a little about myself. I’m a 68 year old retiree, who happily served the County of Los Angeles as a professional firefighter for 32 ½ years. I’m also a veteran, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard aboard the polar icebreaker “Burton Island” back in 1972-1974. Before becoming a firefighter, I was a journeyman structural ironworker. Those are the guys that put up the giant steel framework of skyscrapers… A few years ago, I was sitting around the house not doing much of anything, except watching our giant cactus grow. So, like many other retirees with nothing to do, I surfed the internet to see if I could find a way to repair a broken camera lens. My brother had recently shown me that you could find anything on “YouTube™” to fix whatever you wanted. So, off I went on my quest for new knowledge… Along the way, I came across an ad on affiliate marketing… Seemed honest enough, so I took a deeper look into the world of affiliate marketing. It was there that I found a new calling with many like minded people who all want to make a difference… Since that day, a few years ago, I’ve met countless people, and I’ve enrolled in several advanced training programs. With that said, I discovered that sitting around and not exercising your brain is not such a good habit to embrace… I have trouble remembering names, and I jumble the things I learn about affiliate marketing to the point where I cannot seem to remember what I read… That leaves me in the present, where I am working on a 90 day mindset challenge…

My young mentor happened to mention a speed reading program he had taken with someone named “Jim Kwik…” Well that sounded interesting, so off I went to “YouTube™” to find out more about Jim… I was hooked after the first intro video… This sounded like something I could personally benefit from… Although I still think of myself as young… I am beginning to realize that my short term memory is not as sharp as my long term memory of yesteryear… Heck, half of the time, I can’t remember why I even walked into a room or where I left my cellphone…

It is my desire to work through each of the exercises with the rest of you, therefore:
1. I can feed my brain healthy foods,
2. Rid my myself of my automatic negative thoughts
3. Exercise my brain,
4. Nurture my brain with healthy vitamins,
5. Surround myself with positive peers (that’s you guys),
6. Protect my brain from falls (because those happen a lot more than I like),
7. Get good restful sleep (I take a lot of naps),
8. Keep a clean organized environment (I can actually find things),
9. Learn something new every day,
10. And balance my stress (live a balanced life congruent to my highest values…) Hey, I remembered all of that without looking at my notes… Like my dad use to tell me, “Well, how about that?” I am so very grateful to be here with all of you…

Thank you, Mr. Jim Kwik, Johnny “Keoni” Martinez
