"I am taking this course to keep my brain sharp"

I am almost 60 years and I am noticing that I am forgetting dates, names....I come from a family with cases of dementia and that scares me! So I am taking this course to keep my brain sharp. I would also like to enjoy reading again. I used to enjoy reading a lot but I have slowed down, so slow that I cannot go beyond a chapter. These are the two major reasons why I signed up. A consolation will be to learn another language!
