Before I began the Speaking and Influencing course, I thought I already understood what it meant to speak. I had spent years addressing staff at official events, facilitating spiritual workshops and talks. My voice had always been from the heart yet, underneath was some hidden fear to be truly seen.
When the course began, I didn’t expect it to change me. But over the month, learning new techniques, something shifted. For the first time, speaking wasn’t about perfection—it was about authenticity and showing up vulnerable. We learned how to step into confidence, how to anchor ourselves, how to breathe, how to share from the heart so the audience could feel what we felt.
Those five months became a turning point. As my toolkit grew, so did my confidence. My voice is not so much a tool anymore but more like a bridge to the hearts of the audience.
After just a few months, I applied for a TEDx talk—something I had not imagined doing before—and I am deeply grateful, I was accepted.
Recently I stepped onto stages I once thought belonged to other people. The most recent was in front of six thousand people. I didn’t faint, freeze, or attempt to flee the building…. Instead, I actually felt confident, expansive and joyful to share from the heart.
After the Course and Eric Edmeades coaching speaking feels surprisingly….like a joyful expression of who I am, and a way to share from the heart to connect more deeply with others.
It changed my voice.
It changed my world.
And in many ways, it changed me.
