Qigong, under Lee Holden’s instruction/direction, has dramatically changed and improved my life for the better.
I’ll begin with the year 2019, which launched a major transformational time of healing for me. A brief glance at my background includes having a Masters in Journalism with 25 years experience in Public Relations; working as a licensed barber for 20 years in my Father’s barbershop, and being a certified instructor in Aerobic/Group fitness/Zumba for 15 years. But over the course of a decade, I had also endured two major back surgeries, a hip replacement, rotator cuff surgery, osteoarthritis, a meniscus tear, and in May 2019, a diagnosis of some thing called “parkinson-ism.” My mobility was suffering. And frustration was mounting. But I refused to give up. I continued to work at the barbershop and teach my fitness classes. All the while, I was on a personal mission to pursue optimal health and vitality. My quest was to find healing beyond what Western medicine could offer me.
I was introduced to Qigong through an Ayurveda counselor. The practice intrigued me, as it made me feel energetically different and more relaxed than other forms of “flexibility” exercises. Qigong offered me a much more different effect than yoga! After just one month, I felt dramatically grounded, calm, yet energized, with a greater sense of focus. I wanted to learn more about this “mysterious” energy system, and these things called meridians, “qi,” pressure points and flows. I started to understand greater feelings of being connected to the present moment, and experiencing inner harmony. But I still wanted more.
I began searching the internet to find out more about this “thing” called Qigong. I stumbled upon Lee’s YouTube videos in late 2019, and something about them (and the way he presented Qigong) kept calling me back. The five-day Qigong Challenge found me, and I eventually became a Video Class subscriber in early 2020. This was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Qigong just seemed to be the right “fit” that my body, mind and soul was needing for a very long time. And with the onset of COVID, as well as the passing of my beloved Father in April 2020, Qigong was there to assist in bringing me grounding, inner peace and harmony amidst life’s challenges.
I made it one of my personal goals and intentions to do the inner work (mind, body, spirit) to heal my physical limitatons. I have always been a woman of deep spiritual faith. But Qigong (along with Ayurveda) gave me new hope, healing, and opened the door to the fascinating world of holistic health and vitality.
Since I have been practicing Qigong, I’ve been able to positively improve my mobility and quality of life. As of June of 2020, along with my daily practice of Qigong, I’ve been able to teach two Zumba classes a week once again.
It was as if the God was speaking to me again in September 2020 when the Tier 1 teacher training came across my path. Should I make the financial investment during a monetarily challenging year? Should I carve out the time in my already busy schedule? Would it all be worth it? After careful consideration, all the answers became “Yes!”
After my family and students began to notice how much my energy level and mobility was improving, it became an obvious intention to show others how to empower themselves through the practice of Qigong.
For anyone considering taking the Tier 1 Holden Qigong training, my advice is: Do it! Lee and his staff are so amazing, accommodating and accessible! And no matter where the path of Qigong takes you, it is so worthwhile, and you’ll be glad you came on board with this program!
For myself, a simple thank you doesn’t seem enough… but I am deeply grateful and will continue to practice this magical and powerful technique/tool for healing and improved quality of life. In addition, I will now continue to teach and spread the word to others of how beautiful and effective this Qigong practice is.
I send a humble and sincere nod of gratitude to you, Mr. Holden!
