Four months ago I was feeling tired, bloated, and swollen all over my body. I had headaches almost every single day and could not lose weight despite running uphill for 40 minutes every morning at dawn. I thought it was the pre-menopause state or my thyroids medication which needed readjusting but it was simply the fact that I was not strict with my diet and my daily routine. When I was young I could eat anything and be in perfect shape. I played tennis often and have always practiced several sports at a time- my body was slim and strong. However, as years went by (currently 48 years old), my body developed into something I did not like. I did not feel comfortable with it and my energy levels dropped remarkably, so I started to look for a solution. Deep inside I knew I needed to detox and stick to a clean and healthy routine, but I was not able to, due to all the daily distractions at work, friends, family, local food traditions, etc… Then as a Mindvalley member I came across the opportunity of attending Holobody Certification and I thought it would be the perfect way to learn and help others achieve great health; especially women.
The phrase that stuck when I first went through the course outline was: “progressive and permanent transformation”. How many of my friends have gone on a diet for a specific event and then bounced back to the triple weight they originally had? It is true that out there you can find many nutrition coaches and fitness coaches but the blend of them both with a psychologic perspective, or may I say, holistic perspective does not exist. I am currently coaching a young lady who has gone in and out of diets, attended many psychologists and has never achieved her goal. Now she is thrilled with my help because I have a holistic approach that she really needs.
What I encountered in this program is a lot of knowledge both from the coaching stand point of things as from the health, fitness, nutrition, spirituality and human awareness applied to the relationship with our bodies. I have broadened my consciousness in so many fields that I can now understand all the issues my coachees are facing. In addition to that, I have learned many tools that I can apply both to myself and my clients in order to achieve progressive and permanent transformation.
During these four months, one of the moments I was most grateful for were the peer coaching sessions. Learning how a coaching session must be conducted live with the help of Sid, Toma and Maria added a lot of value to this quest that I can now apply to my practice. Regarding the moments of challenge, I must say I struggled at the beginning of the journey in which I started to coach one on one- I was insecure and afraid of the personal damage I could cause someone if I did not coach properly. However, thanks to these peer sessions I eventually gained self-confidence and I believe that I am currently doing a quite descent job. (I was not a coach before this quest, I am an Interior Designer).
Now that the journey has come to an end I am looking forward to opening my own practice while continuing to learn more skills on coaching. I have signed up for Ajit’s Podcasts in order to keep learning more every day. If I could speak to the 4 months’ younger version of myself, I would tell her that she made the best decision ever and that thanks to her perseverance she has finally reached inner peace by finding what she is meant to do on this planet. I could tell her that the search can stop now, she finally found her purpose. However, I would also tell her that the learning must continue in order to discover where it will take her and how many people she can impact along the way.
