"My blood sugar has decreased"

In March I was averaging 170 morning blood sugar, A1c at 7.9, so my doctor prescribed Rybelsus (the pill version of Ozempic). My pharmacy said it had not been available for months, so I looked closer at the side effects and cost. And then I signed up for WildFit instead.
Last week, my A1c was 5.7, with average fasting blood sugar at 95. This is a remarkable change. Plus I lost 18 pounds and I’m down one pants size. I’m 70 years old and a self-described chocoholic.
But now I’m on vacation, staying with family who ask if I want pie while they drink their Diet Coke.
Yesterday was a strong demonstration of the repercussions of poor choices at a restaurant. The meal turned out to be much more of a carb fest than the menu had indicated. I ate it anyway because I’ve been missing mashed potatoes. When we left the restaurant to stroll, I was suddenly incredibly fatigued. Every bench and rocking chair beckoned to me. We went back to my friend’s house so I could lounge on the couch and almost nodded off sitting up. This could only be a food coma from so many carbs! It felt awful. I felt better as the day went on and I found a great Cobb Salad on the Wendy’s menu for my dinner. (this will be my new road trip, fast food choice!)
Blood sugar this morning was 138 (actually better than I’d feared.) Today I’ll go back to hunter spring.
