"I’m really glad I kept all those “skinny” clothes in the back of my closet because I sure need them now!"

Here are the 10 most important things that I have learned being on the WildFit challenge.
 1. There is sugar in EVERYTHING! Well, not everything, but in things that one would never even think to check unless I was asked to do so. Like breadcrumbs… Breadcrumbs need sugar?
 2. What I thought was hunger can very often be abated by drinking a glass of water. Who knew there was “thirst hunger“?
 3. I always thought my dry over wrinkly skin was due to age (I AM old) and low levels of collagen due to my maternal genetics. Well surprise, once I became well hydrated, my skin gained all kinds of turgor. I aAM still wrinkly, but I AM old!
 4. Drinking tea without sweetener in it is really quite good.
 5. I formerly had the habit of putting something sweet on or in so many things. Grapes in chicken salad…balsamic vinegar on vegetables…raisins or cranberries on my salads. I never recognized that for what it was….SUGAR!
 6. The scale is not my friend. It is not a good device for monitoring one’s progress as I have always relied on it in the past. I found it too discouraging to watch the same numbers flash up day after day. I changed to weekly weigh ins and then I could see slow steady progress.
 7. I like experimenting with recipes I have formerly made and changing them up a bit to make them healthier. Why go back to sweet salad dressings when unsweetened one’s taste better!
 8. Milk, cheese yogurt are not “good for you!”
 9. “Everything in moderation” is not a motto to live by. It is how I have formerly tried to live, and that just kept me spinning back into the yo-yo.
 10. I’m really glad I kept all those “skinny” clothes in the back of my closet because I sure need them now!
