My mum did her best to cook on the little money she had that had not been spent on gambling by my father. However, when I was born my parents had just come out of rationing, and I was brought up mostly on tinned, boiled or fried food. Never touched a fresh vegetable until I was 14yrs old, in my twenties when I ran a decorating business I got into the habit of eating bread food, sandwiches, pizzas, easy fast stuff that you just scoffed down without thinking as you usually didn’t have that much time to eat.
When I changed direction and entered into occupational therapy, I was less active, sat more in clinics and people’s homes doing a lot less physical work and more writing. As a consequence the pounds piled on, I knew it, so tried lots of different diets, weight watchers, vegetarian, some paleo. I was having some serious health issues developing because of my weight and size and the doctor putting me on the NHS pre-diabetic course set the alarm bells ringing.
Thankfully having dealt with anxiety management I understood what to do when my heart was beating at 170 bpm to slow my heart pace down. My friend helped me with dealing with my inflammation using natural remedies. However, it wasn’t until I came across Wildfit that things really changed. Vishen from Mindvalley was talking with Eric of how the philosophy of Wildfit and how the food industry is keeping us fat and how the Wildfit approach changed his personal health and that of his team at Mindvalley.
