"I want to keep my brain active, learn new things and reap the rewards of that"

I'm taking this course because for some time now, I've felt that my memory was bad, and creating obstacles to learning in my life. I've found myself reading less, tackling new subject matter less, etc., because I knew that in a couple of days, weeks or months, much of what I learned would be forgotten. And as I'm getting older, I want to keep my brain active, learn new things and reap the rewards of that. I want to get back to a place where I joyfully pick up a book, watch a move, read an article...and know that what I learn/watch will be retained and will add to my knowledge base and ability to have more meaningful and fulfilling interactions with people.
