Despite always testing as an "inspirational" communicator, I adapt to this more careful, measured, un-emotional style of communicating to be effective and "appropriate" in my work environment.
While taking Lisa Nichols's class, I remembered that I'm an artist. I spent most of my life inspiring people through music and dance. I heard and saw, "Show who you are, share your trials and victories, and use your whole self to do it."
Even as a dancer I was told I was too emotive and it was always too clear what was going on with me. As a scientist, I have been told I'm too intuitive, too emotional, too creative. I am also told I am an excellent communicator, I make people feel good and want to be better people.
Lisa's class embraced that side. The most important side.
The biggest takeaway I had from this class that is already rocking my world is that I only ever have to inspire one person, no matter how many people are out there. It has increased the impact of what I say and others do incredibly. I feel more confident and empowered to be me.
