"I have forged deep friendships with people who share my values and goals"

I have been active in the MIndvalley Community since 2017. When I began, I was struggling to cope with caring for my daughter following severe brain injury, juggling finances and time, supporting the needs of my family, doing a PHD, maintaining high standards as a lecturer and researcher, and even just accepting that I was good enough. I felt isolated and fearful, I was physically and mentally unhealthy and ready to break under the pressure of life; I was overwhelmed. In the community, I found myself sharing deeply and trusting that the group forums were safe spaces. I found reflections of myself in the words of others, and I found that my peers validated what I was saying too. The more I reached out to support others and the more I showed myself vulnerably, the lighter my heart and spirit became, and the more connected and supported I felt. Now, I look back and feel real joy at the decision I made to jump in feet-first, typing my posts, creating videos, carving out time to support and engage others, becoming an ambassador. I have forged deep friendships with people who share my values and goals: to develop into our best selves, to live out our Soul's purpose, to love our imperfect lives, to dare to believe in and commit to making progress, and to be open enough to build friendships and give love to people we have never physically met. Dozens of those people have become my friends. They bolster me when my daughter is in pain or I feel unable to see the silver lining and I am almost at my wit's end. They share inspirational stories that keep me focused on my long-game. They prove daily that I am not alone, I am worthy, and I am loved.
