"I knew in my heart this was the next step for me"

Before this program, I was widowed for the second time. Ten weeks after my husband died, my son-in-law also died. Both were not expected and absolutely derailed our lives. I have been a clinical counselor for 12 years and founder/CEO of our family charity for 6 years. My work is immersed in the intersections of brain injury, mental health, and addiction.
My daughter and her sons moved in after the deaths. Her youngest is 10 and profoundly disabled (non-verbal and in a wheelchair). My other daughter and her son also live with us. "We do better together" has been a family motto since I was widowed for the first time at 33 years old.
At the time of these recent deaths, I had been awarded over half a million dollars for a research project on the intersections of brain injury, mental health, and addictions. Although committed to continuing this work, I was also very aware that life felt flat, I had little capacity to counsel people so I did not reopen my practice, and I was in need of an infusion of joy, happiness, and life-giving force.
As I have done in the past, I went looking for books, conferences, workshops, etc. to help. I had recently joined Mindvalley and was sure, that somewhere, I saw there was a conference. I went looking on the site and found nothing, but I declared to the Universe that I needed to find something to raise me up. Three days later, I received the email that the Certified Life Coach program was opening up and within 10 minutes I was signed up. I knew in my heart this was the next step for me.
Not only have I learned about myself, I have been able to heal some scars, and I look forward to what I will contribute to society as a coach.
