Before enrolling in the Holobody Coaching Program, I was struggling with menopause weight gain, and depression. Although I knew how to eat healthy and exercise, I was not actively following any routine or regime. The only activity I ever engaged in at a gym was using the bike or elliptical. I had never done any type of strength training.
The reason I enrolled in this program was to gain some motivation to take better care of myself create more structure around my health and then be able to help others with their health journey.
I feel that I have gained so much more than I expected from this journey. I have developed coaching skills in addition to a holistic approach to health that is beyond diet and exercise. I have worked toward a new relationship with my body and I am less afraid of strength training (although this is still a "new" activity for me). My mental health has improved.
My top takeaways or insights after finishing this program are:
1) health is a journey, not a destination
2) be gentle with me, let go of the perfectionism
3) this program includes a wealth of possible strategies to improve one's health; it is not a requirement to implement all of the strategies at once; it is fine to take it little by little, at my own pace
4) there is still work to be done in terms of developing a positive relationship with my body, but I have made progress
5) It is possible to start strength training at any age
