I was laid off from my job at a financial institution about three years ago. It was jolting, but one of the best things to happen to me. It forced me to resurrect my freelance communication business and it was what I was looking for to give me freedom and more control over my financial and occupational trajectory.
Along the way, I realized that if I was going to tell people I was a consultant I needed to have some training behind it. I was already familiar with Ajit and Evercoach and was receiving his emails. One day I was cleaning out my Evercoach email file when I ran across the invitation to join the CBC program. I had always been attracted to coaching, but never thought about training to be one. It was always out of reach--or so I thought. At the very least, I believed it would help me ask better questions as a writer, communicator, and business owner.
That's all good and fine, but WOW was that ever a limiting belief! As a result of the training, a whole new world has opened up for me. While I realize I will always continue to get better, I found much of it has come naturally given the right tools. It has already changed my approach to, and the language I use with, my customers, and has revealed a new occupational option that I never dreamed could happen. It's hard work to go deep with people, but what an absolute joy to serve and watch the light bulb come on! It's cliche to say it's life changing, but it really is--for them and me.
