I had a boring life story. A mother of two kids, staying at home and trying to make things work. Used to be a career working woman before I had my second baby, travelling for work very often and all that. When life happened, I had to give up my job and raised the kids. Trying to be fulfilled by it but inside I was angry, disappointed, and stressed. My relationship with my husband was also not good. I kept blaming him for what happened. And even when he asked me to find another job, I thought that would be an impossible thing to do. So I kept myself busy with doing courses online, podcast junkies, and all that, including Mindvalley. When I saw the ad on YouTube about the Lifebook program, I was tempted to try. After a few months of consideration (I didn't know why I had even to consider that, I could get a refund! And I did), I enrolled. And I completed it. Just by doing the exercise, clarity was gradually part of me. It gave me such relief. A week after that, my relationship with my husband got better. We are in a better place now. And what I couldn't believe is my career. This has been unprecedented. With a pandemic situation and uncertainty. Things had been in a lot worse situation to even think about going back to work. But guess what, I got an opportunity!
This was what I wrote in Career vision:
- I want to choose a career with a greater cause, which I know I contribute to the life of others in positive ways. - I want to do work that I am really good at: teaching, coaching, planning, and managing. It gives me a sense of joy, fulfilment, and excitement.
- My dream career allows me to travel and meet amazing people. I get to decide on my schedule. I can do it from anywhere in the world. My days are always different and exciting. I am a valuable asset to others.
- I want to work in a global environment, with various people from around the world doing great work together for a better world.
Out of nowhere, a friend forwarded a job vacancy to me. I looked at it, and there was this goosebump all over my body. I wanted the job so much, it was an environment project, something that I am passionate about, and within my professional expertise! And it is remote work due to Covid, so I get to be at home with the kids too. Long story short, I got the job. An international consulting company that doesn't even have an office yet in Indonesia. Became the first Indonesia who joined the team. Doing work with the team from different parts of the world. And even get paid better than my previous precious job! I just couldn't believe it happened. And happened so fast. And if it had not been because of the program, I wouldn't have been in this place right now. I have more clarity, confidence, and will to move forward.
