"It helped me view many aspects of health from a fresh perspective, making change much easier than it initially seemed"

The reason I joined Health and Body Mastery was to support my dear husband, who burned out just before the course started. His health needed all-around support at that time to recover, and I felt that this program would provide me with the necessary tools to help him. However, a few months into the program, it became clear why I needed it just as much. I was unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer. I am 35, the mother of a 2-year-old, and I’ve been taking care of my health for years. Yet, breast cancer became part of my story.
Soon after the diagnosis, I realized what responsibility lies with the medical system and what lies with me in this journey. I felt an enormous sense of gratitude and relief that I no longer had to spend resources searching for the “right” ways to support my body during this emotional and challenging time. I already had everything I needed! At that moment, I decided to commit even more to the Health and Body Mastery program, and it has been the key to my positive journey through breast cancer.
Thanks to this program, I’ve maintained a consistent focus on protein- and vegetable-rich nutrition during chemotherapy, increased my physical activity significantly (morning walks, yoga twice a week, and strength training twice a week), fasted regularly for 13 to 72 hours, and kept a growth-oriented mindset. My experience with chemotherapy so far has been amazing. It has gone by without major physical discomfort. At the hospital, everyone is amazed and, of course, happy that I’m feeling so well. Friends also compliment me, saying I look radiant and full of life. They constantly express their surprise that it’s possible to look this good while undergoing active chemotherapy.
I truly believe that my current well-being, despite the cancer diagnosis, is closely tied to Health and Body Mastery and my decision to fully commit to it. This program has provided me with crucial health-related information, a safe and supportive environment for growth, just the right amount of challenge, and has encouraged me to take even more responsibility for my health. It has shown me that with small, consistent steps, significant changes are possible.
For many others, my story will surely offer a new perspective: a cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy don’t always have to be devastating and unbearable. In any difficult situation, you can always do a lot for your own well-being.
I highly recommend this Quest, as it is thorough and versatile. It helps bring about significant changes through small, safe steps. The weekly tasks and challenges keep the focus and excitement alive. I also found it very helpful that the weekly challenges often had three different difficulty levels, allowing everyone to choose what best suits them.
For me, a very important part of the program was the change in mindset and the much broader perspective it provided, making it easier to implement changes.
My top 3 takeaways or insights during/after finishing this Quest are:
I came to understand that the entire journey I’ve experienced over these four months can be compared to surfing. This program is like a surfboard that is now always tightly attached to my foot and something I can always rely on. Some days, I catch all the waves successfully — I eat well, move enough, sleep well, and feel full of satisfaction and joy. Other days, the sea is rough, and the waves keep tossing me into the water, leaving me with sand in my mouth and eyes. Life throws unexpected challenges my way, my motivation is low, and I’m exhausted. It’s hard to stick to routines while traveling, etc. But that’s okay because I know I have my surfboard to help me get back on the water and enjoy the waves again. The more I practice, the better I get at surfing through life’s and health’s waves.
I’ve developed a love for fasting and have made it a part of my lifestyle. Over this period, I’ve learned how to fast and truly enjoy the experience. I used to think fasting wasn’t possible for me, but now I know it is. Thanks to this program and to the step-by-step development of a fasting habit my relationship with food has changed significantly. On the days I fast, I feel like I have so much more mental clarity because I’m not constantly thinking about food (what to eat, what to buy, etc.). Beyond the physical lightness, it’s also incredibly freeing for the mind!
Lastly, I’ve learned how important it is to include enough protein in my diet. During the program, for the first time, I tracked what and how much I ate, and I realized how little protein I had been consuming daily. This was a new perspective for me in terms of nutrition, and it continues to be a challenge that requires ongoing focus.
The biggest positive change has been the shift in my mindset, and thanks to that, in my movement habits.
This program helped me view many aspects of health from a fresh perspective, making change much easier than it initially seemed. Because of these shifts in my thinking, my movement habits have changed considerably. I’ve established a habit of going for a walk alone every morning before the rest of the family wakes up. On one hand, it has become a fun game for me to quietly slip out of the house before my family wakes up. It is also bringing me so much daily satisfaction. On the other hand, I’ve seen how much this habit has influenced my friends and acquaintances. I’ve shared my lovely morning walks and beautiful views of the urban nature on social media, inspiring others to walk more in the mornings too. I’ve also met up with friends for early morning walks or scheduled phone calls with those living farther away during my walks. Mornings offer much less competition for time compared to the rest of the day, and all it takes is the decision to wake up a little earlier and get moving. It’s truly special to realize that my morning walks have become a source of inspiration for others.
Another significant change in my movement habits has been establishing a routine of strength training twice a week. I’ve long known the importance of strength training, but I’ve always felt uncomfortable with the physical exertion and the gym environment. Ronan helped shift my perspective on this and get past that discomfort. Strength training isn’t just about looking better; it’s about experiencing more in life. I no longer want to tell my 2-year-old, “You’ve gotten so heavy, I can’t carry you anymore.” I want to say, “I see you want to be close to me right now. Come here, I’ll gladly carry you because I’m strong enough.” That has become my motivation for strength training, and it works brilliantly!
For me, this program arrived at the perfect time, and I am deeply grateful for it. I believe it has been the best and most life-changing investment I’ve ever made in myself.
