"I have a completely different understanding of parenting"

I was very interested in this quest because I had a very challenging upbringing. My parents had me when they were 16 years old. It was so hard growing up with them and everything seemed like the biggest struggle. I decided to enroll because even though I don't have kids, I work with kids every day and I want to be a better teacher, I want to understand them better and I felt in my heart that this is what I needed to understand the past. Doing Dr. Shefali's work helped me to realize that I needed to heal, I needed to understand and to have compassion towards my parents so I could start building my own story. During the quest I had many revelations, it was hard but it was the most liberating thing I've done in my life. After this quest I'm much more aware of my programs, the limitations I need to work on and now that I have a completely different understanding of parenting I feel like I could be a mom, I hope I have the opportunity.
