"Using the skills I gained, I created a chatbot to handle general patient queries, saving time for staff and patients"
I have a background in IT with 12 years of expertise in data analysis. For the past 11 years, I’ve had the privilege of managing my husband, Dr. Kawaljit Singh’s medical practice, which specializes in dementia and its associated behaviours. During this time, I’ve witnessed his incredible compassion and dedication to his patients, and together, we’ve always strived to go the extra mile—not just for the patients, but for their carers as well. Despite this, I often felt limited—like I was stuck—due to my level of knowledge and confidence. That changed when I joined the Mindvalley AI Mastery Program. I’ve enjoyed and learnt so much from Vyk, Rui, Juan, Andri, Iman and Domenic. The lessons are packed with practical knowledge from people in the industry. I really appreciate every aspect that has been taught. This program didn’t just expand my skill set; it gave me wings, helping me think outside the box and create a vision for making a real difference. One immediate transformation was within my current business. Using the skills I gained, I created a chatbot to handle general patient queries, saving time for staff and patients. I have also started automating daily tasks, freeing up valuable time for more meaningful activities. These changes have already revolutionized how we work and serve patients. I’m also honoured to be helping Dr. Singh publish a book on dementia and its behaviors to further educate caregivers worldwide. Additionally, I’ve set up his social media accounts to support his passion for teaching and guiding nursing home staff on managing dementia-related challenges. Now, I’m applying these lessons to a larger vision. Picture this: you’re caring for a parent with cognitive impairment who has refused to shower for over a week. You’ve tried everything and are at your wit’s end. What do you do? This is the kind of scenario my app "Alma Dementia Care" is designed to address, reducing the immense stress caregivers face when managing challenging dementia behaviors. The app provides tailored guidance and education on why these behaviors occur, and offers actionable strategies—what to say, do, and avoid—preventing further distress. We aim to launch a pilot version of this app in nursing homes by February next year to test its impact in professional caregiving environments and refine it for broader use. Studies show that by 2030, approximately 78 million people will be living with dementia, each with 2–3 informal caregivers. This app could be their lifeline. My vision is to make this tool accessible, impactful, and transformative for families and caregivers worldwide. None of this would have been possible without the Advanced AI Mastery Program at Mindvalley, which gave me the tools, confidence, and vision to create something truly meaningful.
