So you might ask how is my Christie experiment going? Truthfully, better than I ever could have imagined. Has funds suddenly appeared in my mailbox or savings that I hadn't anticipated? Yes, they have, but that has been the least of the benefits of the class. Whatever she does in the clearings has made me much more focussed, centered, calmer (I tend to be a Type I personality for whom stress has always been a problem). Now, I go through my days more in the nature flow of them, don't react or overreact to the small irritating things that happen during a typical day. This has made all the difference in my life.
My relationships with others, particularly my wife, are so much happier and less confrontational than in the 30 years of our marriage. In between the clearings that work though I can't completely understand why Christie has gently and playful outlined for her audience what I would say as an Executive are typical successful management/organizational tools for life (Make a plan; get a life).
I think, like most people, I have been on the journey to discover the meaning of life and whatever and however Christie does what she does it works, at least for me. Her program reminds me of the joke in Annie Hall where Woody Allen says, "Doctor my brother thinks that he is chicken? The doctor says, 'Have you told him that he is not a chicken." Woody says, 'I would, but the family needs the eggs." I guess the reason that a person who probably is the antithesis of the target audience and was initially skeptical of Christie's program does so because "I need the eggs!"
