I've listened to about 10 so far in a few weeks now, and it's been a very interesting experience. Things like this happened: my Uncle contacted me out of the blue asking if I could help him in his office for a couple of weeks as his gal had to leave unexpectedly. This would be extra money for me that I wouldn't have had. Then I got an email from a good friend of mine who is a Notary, inviting me to consider the possibility of working in her office to learn the business (as I'm considering becoming a Notary) - this came out of the blue and I didn't ask her about this, but I had been thinking that exact idea myself. I had been waiting for the right moment to bring it up with her.
I honestly freaked out when she sent me the email! I got totally excited that my exact thought showed up without me having to ask. Wow! Then I called an old friend to ask if his wife would be a character reference for me (for the Notary application) and he suggested that I would be better off joining one of his businesses, and he wanted to meet with me right away to discuss the options further. Whaaaa?? Strangely, 6 years prior he had asked me to be his business partner in that exact same business, but due to my circumstances at the time, I was unable to jump at the opportunity. Now he was opening the door to join his business....so weird and unexpected. We are still looking at the opportunity, and in the interim I may do some sales and marketing for the business.
Last week I went to meet my accountant to finish my company tax return (I do small business sales and marketing consulting), and my accountant told me to write myself a tax free cheque from the company for over $9,000 for expenses, which I wasn't expecting. He also mentioned that the company would be getting a refund of over $10,000. Hmmm....was this really working or was this stuff already in motion and now I was just noticing it more?? Then a girlfriend of mine suggested I could help her do some marketing for her small business as an organizer. That was out of nowhere as well as we were just having an impromptu dinner at my house. Now, to be clear, it hasn't all been sunshine and roses, as I did get an unexpected utility bill for over $700, which was not nice at all. But generally the news has been positive and opportunities are showing up. That all being said, here are my thoughts about all this: is this simply due to my mental effort to actually enact some change in my life and take some steps? I have had to contact people, which is in turn, creating the opportunity. So it could just be that I've put myself into action and out there, and that is why all this is happening. OR, is there some divine intervention/support happening here? I don't know and I guess I don't really care.
All I know is that it is mostly positive that is happening to me, and I want more of it. I am not going to stop now because whatever it is seems to be working! LOL! I am now asking for clarity and help in choosing because TOO MANY options are popping up. Gee! How do I decide? This is a pretty funny scenario to be in, but I'm hoping someone or something will help me see clearly which direction to go in. Some problem to have, eh? :) So now I will ask for focus on either pursuing my career and education to become a Notary Public (which is a 2 year, full time, Masters degree at University and about $20,000), or pursue joining my friends business after 6 years of operating, or stay the course with my own consulting business. I'm leaning towards the more daunting, expensive choice of Notary, but I would LOVE some input...anyone???
