Before the program I was asked to share my company's pivot story (during COVID 19) to inspire other women entrepreneurs. My first 20 minutes online, sharing the story, was fun and exhilarating but my content was all over the show, by the end of it I had no idea what I had actually said and most of what I thought I wanted to say never made it out my mind. What I rehearsed in my head was in no way what I managed to deliver. I couldn't articulate what I had felt and wanted to say and therefore didn't have the impact I had hoped for on my audience. But I knew I had fun and I knew I could do this well if I decide to learn how to do it properly! I asked the organizer for my recording because I want to watch to see where I need to improve and she suggested I take up speaker coaching sessions because she could see my potential. I signed up with a local speaker coach and Speak & Inspire at the same time. While taking the Speak & Inspire Quest, a 2nd opportunity to inspire Women Entrepreneurs presented itself where I was to tell my Pivot story in 5 minutes by video which would be shared during a webinar. My preparation was totally different to my first experience and I created an awesome, authentic and inspiring story that was shared beyond my expectation in the group, on LinkedIn and to international organisations who are corporate members of the same Women Entrepreneur program. I light switched on for me during this recording, I felt invigorated, alive and excited like I have never felt before!
I felt accomplished and grateful for this experience which has now lead to a 3rd opportunity to be the key note speaker for a webinar in early September! I believe many more opportunities will follow and I will build my confidence and skill using the tools and insights that I have so fortunately been able to learn from Lisa Nichols (My Shero! I love you Lisa so very much!). My preparation has taken on a whole new meaning, and equipped with Lisa's invaluable tools I know I will deliver content coupled with insight and inspiration to leave the audience invigorated and enthusiastic about their own intrinsic potential to be, do and have anything their hearts desire, because they can!
