"Instead of being fearful, I am excited about the future"

The biggest change that I've experienced during the Money EQ program was how quickly my attitude has shifted about the work I do for a living. I've been a Software tester/QA engineer for 20+ years. I've always strived to become an FTE until I retire, but no matter how hard I worked at any particular company, I would always get laid off due to circumstances beyond my control. For example, I got hired at what I thought was my dream job and I was making the most money I've ever made. Everything was great until my manager told me that they have to let me go due to the effects of the pandemic. At first I was upset and angry because I was just catching up with my mortgage payments and bills and other debts. I was scared of the future because my husband was recently laid off as well. But after 7 days of the program, I realized that the job I currently had was a "pair of golden handcuffs". I was willing to stay with it because it took care of my financial needs as well as my husband's - and that was about it. Now I realize that an opportunity is waiting for me at a place that will not only welcome my years of experience but will also let me explore what I've always wanted to do - opportunities that would have been impossible at the job I am at now. So Thank-You Ken for helping me to see that getting laid off is a great opportunity instead of a shameful defeat. Instead of being fearful, I am excited about the future. Arigato and Namaste.
