The Mindvalley-Evercoach course seemed a perfect fit. As an uncertified coach, I used to lend a patient ear to the problems of others and sincerely try to help them but what came as a revelation to me was that I needed to tackle one issue at a time and work within my boundaries. The success I achieved with two people I have been trying to help for years, is unimaginable.
Shobna (name changed to ensure anonymity), a young adult of 22, was clinically depressed and was under the treatment of psychiatrists for 5 years. Being the eldest of the three children in her family, she thought her father loved her more than the others till he walked away with some other woman, leaving his uneducated wife to manage the three of them. She felt betrayed and angry and decided to stop interacting with people outside the home.
Though intelligent and curious by nature, she refused to go to college beacuse of the panic she experienced at the sight of others. I asked her to continue with her medication while working with me. After 45 days she went to her current psychiatrist who felt that Shobna had changed her 'avatar' completely. Instead of the angry, depressed and confused she was used to seeing, she noticed a sea change and said - "I see a major difference in you. How is it you have become calm and very joyful?" Shobna is back in college, goes out with two or three girls and is actively involved in planning her career.
The other person is Tracy (name changed to ensure anonymity). She is a teacher who has been keen on completing her doctorate for 6 years. Being a recipient of a government scholarship, she is required to complete her scientific research by October 2022 or repay the entire sum to the government. She too is on medication and was full of rage against people who made her work so hard that she found no time for her research.
I used the Intentional Change Theory, The 3 MIQs, and used some of the other strategies to help her achieve a breakthrough. She has been working steadily since 15th May and will submit her thesis by August.
These are the experiences of others but I too have benefited immensely from the program. Being an educator and a spiritual mentor, I have read piles of books and been passionately involved in self-development courses. I feel that the Certified Life Coach program gave shape and structure to zany self-education. Thanks a million to the Mindvalley and Evercoach teams.
