Before this program, I had already established my coaching business, The Creative's Apprentice (I specialize in simplifying business so my clients can find the brain space to create.)
I had been in business and creative coaching for four years and my clients were hitting their creative career goals. (signing with literary agents, getting book deals, etc.) BUT many of them were so anxious and stressed in doing so they were unable to enjoy their new levels of success or recognize (let alone reveal the fact) that they were living their dreams.

I wanted to expand my skill set to ensure my clients were happy while they created their art. I began looking for a program that would let me take a more holistic approach to coaching. I'd loved my experience with Mindvalley as a student, so when I saw the Mindvalley Certified Life Coach course open up I knew their style of teaching would resonate with me.
The program was phenomenal. I immediately saw benefits that I could apply to my existing coaching clients.
One of the biggest lessons for me was that even though people are coming to me for business or creative guidance, if they are having issues in another area of their life it can block their business/creative progress. We were taught to help people process their emotions to help them get to the point they can move forward on their goals again.
This came into play when a client (we're working together on drafting her first book) showed up for a session visibly upset. I asked how her weekend was, and she told me about a horrific near-death experience she had experienced just a few days ago.
Before class, I may have tried to avoid the conversation, because it had nothing to do with writing or business. Because of our CLC training though, I understood she needed to process this highly emotional experience before we could even think about her writing goals.
I spent the first 30 minutes of our session maintaining my presence and listening to her with my whole being. Then I channeled Coach Fran and asked if she wanted to "try something weird" (my version of play.) The client agreed and I lead her through a visualization/meditation for about 10 minutes or so. By the end, she was smiling and laughing. Visibly and energetically she was a completely different person than when she logged on to the call.
The biggest surprise to me though was in the final 10 minutes of our call she brought the conversation back to her writing. Set her goals and was more inspired than ever to finish her work.
This program gave me the skills and resources I needed to help my clients work toward emotional well-being in addition to their creative success.
I enjoyed testing all of the different exercises & modalities MV recommended. I love that there are places for me to dig even deeper after graduation. The practice pods were a wonderful place to connect with other coaches and I came out of the program with some connections I already value deeply and foresee evolving into longterm friendships and colleagues.
