"Certified Hypnotherapist training has impacted my life and work as a psychiatrist"

How the Mindvalley Certified Hypnotherapist training has impacted my life and work as a psychiatrist.
Before this training, I practiced integrative psychiatry - meaning correcting nutritional deficiencies to support mental health - with a variety of psychotherapeutic techniques.
Now my approach has expanded, and I have a much bigger toolbox.
The training taught me that what I have always done to build rapport can use to induce either direct or indirect hypnosis. With NLP, matching, pacing, and leading more consciously I help my patients relax deeply which facilitates new learning and growth. I love putting people into a trance.
When a patient does not like how they feel or what they do, I now ask “What do you want?”. In addition to taking the history, I can help them generate new behaviors and more of the feelings they want. While listening to their stories can help heal, speaking to the unconscious mind is far more powerful and fun!
Most patients arrive highly anxious. I can now interrupt that state and guide them to relax so we can identify how we need to work. Before, through the hour of talking and listening they would leave the session feeling better than when they arrived. However, I have the skills to guide that change of state at the outset. The goal: building a habit they can practice on their own.
I have been practicing EMDR for years now and, I just want to say, I was taught to move my eyes laterally. I have found it very effective for treating PTSD and PTSD. I learned about Event Havening in the MV Pro call with Paul McKenna on July 5, 2021, and have been using it since. The big difference between EMDR and Event Havening is that there is no conscious reprocessing of the negative self-cognition that is encoded with trauma. Since I have learned to work with the unconscious, I could add a reprocessing element to havening.
My work continues to evolve and, as I master these techniques, I am hopeful to serve more of my community because I am more efficient. What fun!
