There is a part of me buried deep inside that knows I am meant for more. After 67 times around the sun, there are moments I questioned this. Upon completing a 22-year journey of teaching High School I found myself in an adventure that shook my world. The unthinkable happened on a remote island in the middle of the Pacific ocean. I fell from a rock stepped onto a pongo and broke my ankle in 3 places. There was no cell phone coverage. There was no radio coverage of the mainland. There was only a captain on a small 12-passenger ship who took my blood pressure, gave me two Tylenol, and turned the ship around for an eight-hour ambulance cruise back to a main island where no hospital existed.
The next 7 days and the following months are for another story but needless to say, Physical Therapy nursed me back to barely walking 5 months later. I remember one day standing at the door and painfully making my way to the end of the driveway. That was all I could do that day. The next day was the same. Eventually I turned right and walked another 10 steps and then each day after that 10 steps more. I wasn’t Flash Gordon but I was making progress. I made a decision that the old lady wasn’t moving in.
I found Holobody during this period of healing. Healing my body, my mind, and my soul. The Universe had smacked me upside the head and threw me to the ground. I had a lot of mental, physical and soul work to do. Physical things that I could do before were just not possible anymore. One important factor I loved about Holobody training was that we are all authentic humans. There is no one size fits all. What is good for one may not be the journey of another. We are all here to learn the important things that pertain to us as individuals.
Coaching, training, and meditation created a truly focused curriculum that brought new friends and coaches as well as lasting changes and not just a one time diet. I loved the layering process of small changes. Over time these add up like drops of water in a bucket and pull you closer to the person you want to be. The best part is the change happens and you don’t even remember the old habits. The morning peaceful warrior routine has made such a lasting impact. I have added to it my personal routine of Yoga positions that encourage my strength and flexibility that was lost from being immobile for so long. My walking routine has turned into 3-5 miles nearly everyday. I connect with nature while I’m out walking and my spiritual practice increases daily. The awesome six-phase meditation completed the circle at the end of training. This was a good closer but I think learning the six phase up front would be a better set up for creating the commitment needed to complete this training module. It would have added another layer to commit to daily and created new results up front. Sixteen hour intermittent fasting has also become part of my lifestyle and feels really good.
I would encourage anyone who is looking to improve their physical body and therefore their life to take and complete this course. It is a smorgasbord of physical, nutritional and mental training for all to take a portion and make it their journey. After all, it's life.
