When I began the Manifesting Mastery course, I opened a doorway to rediscover what it would be like to find a loving partner again. I had reached a point in my healing journey after the ending of a marriage to be open to love. I did not really expect or anticipate meeting anyone as I had begun to really focus on my own feelings and loving myself.
I had planned a excursion to Europe to undertake a new venture and path in life. Two days before my flight was to leave, my father was hospitalized and I scrapped my trip to Europe and rerouted to Chicago. I booked a last minute ticket on Southwest Airlines, the only airline that I know of without preset seat assignments. I boarded the plane and sat in an aisle seat with my headphones on, meditating away the chaos of the Denver airport. Just about everyone had already boarded and most all of the seats had been filled. One of the only remaining seats available was next to me in the middle. One last passenger boarded in a hurry and came walking down the aisle attempting to find her seat - she didn't realize that Southwest doesn't have assigned seats. She asked the flight attendant where to sit, the flight attendant pointed to two seats, one further away and the one next to me. She sat next to me and we said hello and preceded to not talk the rest of the flight. I felt a spark as her leg brushed against mine and, willfully decided to ignore the feeling.
As I left the plane and started walking to the exit of Ohare, there she was walking pretty much alongside me. I said hello and asked her where she was headed. We immediately understood each other in a profound way and realized we had much in common. We have been learning, growing, and exploring together since that day. We lived in two very different worlds - she resided in Maui and I lived in the mountains of Colorado. We are of two different nationalities and cultures. Neither of us are on any dating apps or were actively trying to casually date. It has been a wild ride and we are indeed in love while acknowledging the absolute need to feel love for ourselves first.
