"Lifebook gave me an enriched understanding of what I have the right to expect and ask for in life"

LIFE BOOK ONLINE SUMMARY

I had a brain bleed one year ago and had to have brain surgery on May 29, 2020. It was so unexpected that I actually drove myself to the ER. I know that I am fortunate to be alive and am grateful for all that life offers me.

I have worked in Education for 32 years as a School Psychologist and thought I would continue to work until I was 65 (4 more years). As this past year progressed, many signs pointed toward the fact that a change was imminent in my life. In March, I made the decision to retire, and so my last day in public education will be June 21, 2021.

After I made this decision, I “happened upon” Lifebook.
I love the concepts and decided to complete the online course to help me identify what my encore profession might be and what life, in general, will look like in the future.

What I truly appreciate about the Lifebook Online Course is that each category broke out various components of how to reach a fulfilled life. Each area has its own “life force” that can be developed. I have already learned so many new ideas and concepts that will assist me as I move forward. Lifebook gave me an enriched understanding of what I have the right to expect and ask for in life. I love to learn and look for something each day that will enhance my life. Lifebook came along at a perfect time. I had actually started on the health and fitness part of improvement before Life Book.

I have lost 30 pounds, and had begun getting back into exercise after the brain surgery. So, Lifebook helped me see that health and fitness will need to be an ongoing part of my life as I get older. Eating Clean has also been a transformative improvement that I continue to work on. I have always been a spiritual person and my faith has always sustained me. Life Book pushed me deeper into this category because I am now more aware of universal energy, light and love than ever before. I am learning to meditate and have begun to focus on the joy of life. I truly am letting the “Flow of Life” now drive me. Such power is created when we can let it flow, and this is the lesson I am learning now as I transition into a completely new world. My father has been a minister for over 60 years. Below is a picture I took of his hands. This is the essence of my spirituality and faith. My Father instilled this in the core of who I am. We have both shared this love of God with educators, church members and family. The caption is God's Works Our Hands. The name of this photo is “My Father’s Hands”. It speaks volumes about the nature of my life with Family, Spirituality, Faith, and what I am grateful for. Lifebook took things to the next level for me. It is giving me the courage to seek out the depth of my internal light and love. Lifebook is allowing me to look at life in a whole new way and experience life at a very deep level. Love Relationship is the key area where I need to improve.

What is so beautiful about completing Lifebook, is that it helped me transform my relationship into a work in progress. Prior to Lifebook, we were like two ships passing in the night. By working on myself, and simply making changes that I needed to make, my partner has seen the change and has spontaneously started making improvements as well. I spoke gently and firmly about what my expectations were for our interactions, and clearly stated that certain behaviors were not something I could tolerate in my life. With this change, we now are communicating daily in a loving way. Much more work to come, but it started my path toward a beautiful love relationship after being together for over 20 years. We are now making time to spend quality time together and recreating the love relationship we started with.

Overall, Lifebook took each category and allowed me to find ways to improve and grow. Lifebook has enriched my transition into Retirement. People have had very interesting responses to the fact that I have taken a course to help with my transition. They totally seemed to find it intriguing that I would educate myself into retirement. I needed some guidance on my next journey and Lifebook offers me such guidance.
