I was a part of the Life Book Quest and I am eternally grateful for the program - it was time and money well spent.
Upon completion of the course I immediately began to construct what I envisioned a true "Life Book" to be. I created a binder with the twelve key areas as described by Jon Butcher and outlined the following: what I wanted, why I wanted it and how I planned to get it.
I also included what I thought were the most critical tips from John Butcher as well as some of my own thoughts for each category. In order to complete my Lifebook, I had to make some tough decisions in my life because I am a busy healthcare professional (Physical Therapist) and I am a husband/ father of two beautiful little girls - and I simply did not seem to have any excess time in my life. However, I had reached a critical point in my life where I felt that there was no reason to keep blindly moving forward until I had a clear road map to where I planned to go.
This is what Lifebook has given me - a North Star. My wife and I have taken several tips from Jon to enhance our marriage - and our love life is significantly improving. I am taking time each month (the last Sunday of each month) to review and edit one section of my Lifebook.
I read part of my Lifebook on a weekly basis as well. I have taken positive steps in my life to separate my career from my finances - and while I love my career, I started a side business in order to improve my finances. Next month I will be looking further at the quality of my life and will be planning some of my life adventures as well as how to enhance my life (and the lives of those around me) by obtaining some of the material things that are important to me. I would have taken Jon up on his offer to go through the full version of the Lifebook if he had not offered it during the recent Hurricane - I live in Houston.
While I am happy with the lifebook I created and believe it will continue to serve me for the rest of my life...I wish I had the additional training from Jon as I am sure that his insight would save me much time associated with trial and error type learning that seems to be a big part of my life.
