"I’m able to more fully embrace the idea that my kids are not “mine”, they are their own autonomous people"
I have had bouts of postpartum depression, off and on since my 4th child was born earlier this year. I’ve felt burdened by the responsibility of raising children, it seems like an all-consuming task that doesn’t leave much room for the rest of life. This course has really lifted the burden. Specifically, letting go of the ideas of what it means to be a parent and adopting the perspective of being a spiritual guide. I’m able to more fully embrace the idea that my kids are not “mine”, they are their own autonomous people and I’m here to provide guidance as needed. It relieves a lot of pressure, and the depression symptoms have subsided as I’ve been working through this course. It’s amazing the difference that a shift in perspective can have, along with the community of the tribe.
