My TOP-TEN HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EXTRAORDINARY course:
1. The importance of accepting stillness as a good thing e.g. valuing active-meditation
2. Being ok with self-growth and investing in it (not something that family or friends value seek to do with their personal time or finance)
3. Heard that ‘what I feel and think’, articulated in words of wisdom by yourself. You gave what was in my heart, head and soul words to help express what I imagined to be in ‘lala land’ instead be wise in a respectful ‘mana-enhancing’ manner.
4. Structuring my day through ‘stacking habits’
5. Wisdom of the new knowledge of spiritual and self-growth authors / books / quotes.
6. There are others like me who value and want to make a difference in the context of our people, our place and our world
7. Love the MUSIC for exercises and meditation!!!
8. Your delivery was exceptional as well. You had stories, facts, quotes, practice ideas to provide engagement and your timing was perfect. The sessions although no more than 20 mins, were jampack with so much information, which was interesting.
9. I felt alive every day, as if I had accomplished something, which bought about a wonderful positive feeling for the rest of the day.
10. Your passion is so evident in the way you express yourself which is very infectious. Hearing you saddened by saying goodbye, was something that I am sure was felt many of your students including me. I will be taking part in your 6-phases meditation IN A MONTHS TIME, however first, like a good book, I need to go back and continue developing the mediation practices already shared, implementing methods around developing my intuition and bending reality.
Moving forward: Being involved in education, has allowed me to develop a growth mindset and skills in facilitation, coaching, curriculum content, etc. I hear you on the educational front as well. Funny, I have always thought we should be proposing more school camps and travel outside our own countries with our older children, real-life problem-solving learning, with our children to give them a drive for learning, … and then I heard about your Barcelona experiment! AWESOME!!!!! I too have been frustrated with the education system for a long time, constantly finding ways to engage our students (first priority). My whole philosophy is based around developing key competencies and learning dispositions our children need to establish and rely on, so once again when I heard you say that ‘intuition would be a new curriculum area,’ I went YES – another believer! For me I knew it wasn’t working, feeling so frustrated and no longer able to turn sideways, resigning to reflect on my core values and beliefs and ways of somehow moving into an area that drives the purpose I was put here for. So now I am on my last paper, completing masters in Educational Leadership, focusing on sustainable cultural competencies. A time for reflection, new growth and an opportunity to experience and see what is really happening in the big wide world out there. Luckily, one outcome has been the ability to have time to engage in your course, ‘EXTRAORDINARY’. Love your philosophy, love your beliefs and wishing you all stunning experiences for your endeavors this year. Note: still finding it hard to say “unfuckwithable”! Thank you for huikina mai (opening doorways) Manaakitanga (ethos of respect, generosity and care for others.) Oranga (a vision of wellbeing) You are a Rangatiratanga who uplifts and celebrates life. (self-determination, leadership through noble means) And constantly strives for Kotahitanga (unity, the wisdom of a collective) Kia kaha, Ngaa mihi nui e hoa, (stay strong, much respect, my friend) Reshma Patel-Harman
