I have been ‘on the path’ for many many years and following Vishen’s ‘Vision’ since I discovered Mindvalley while searching for The Silva Method about 20 years ago.
I had followed the Silva teachings in the 1980s and 90s from all of his books and I’d wanted to refresh myself with the techniques but my laptop jumped into Mindvalley instead!
Several mobile phone and laptop upgrades have taken me through these twenty years and numerous Mindvalley webinars and programs, and I’ve been sharing the chunks of knowledge and tips and links with most of my friends and students - yoga, Bowen, English, EEM, Iridology, Movement, eye exercises…
STILLNESS had the greatest impact on me during the 7 Sacred States.
I felt Vishen was talking directly to me when he asked us ‘What identities are we still asking permission to own?’
I still have imposter syndrome for all of the modalities I teach😂 I’m still afraid to step into who I know I am.
Then Vishen gave us the Bruce Lee quote, ‘Absorb what is useful.
Discard what is not’, but the last phrase opened the gates for me:
‘Add your own unique style’
Ergo, Know Thyself!
Find your own truth.
This impacted in me in spades.
I’ve been struggling all my teaching life with following the rules of the modality and going exactly by the book. Yet my inner self has often nudged me to create my own teachings without following the instructions!
I’ve been scared to step out of the course books but the real me is screaming to just do my own thing now, and fly! However, my trained self is still afraid of being told off, excommunicated from the professional associations or even simply being told I’m WRONG.
This trained inner identity I hold feels I sometimes have to defend myself before I’ve even been attacked, but Vishen gave us more lightbulb moments with ‘speak without over explaining things, and introduce yourself without minimising your SELF’.
That first presentation, ‘STILLNESS’, was the message I needed to digest and step out from.
THANK YOU Vishen Lakhiani🙏🏻
