“I got more out of Awaken the Species than other courses I took for over $1000”

I decided to join this quest because it was a reasonable price and I wanted to see what was offered in addition to the book. The CWG series enabled me to give up my childhood beliefs that God sent people to hell. It never made any sense to me but I couldn't quite give it up. When I came out of the closet I decided I'd rather be vilified for who I was than accepted for who I wasn't. CWG allowed me to believe I was loved just as I am.
The most memorable idea in this course for me was the idea of replacing forgiveness with understanding. Then on the second to last day he gives us 30 words to repeat to ourselves in front of the mirror every day for the rest of our lives " [...]
There was so much in the course I will be practicing the rest of my life. Some things were really easy because I'm already doing them - sharing what I have with others, telling the truth, walking my talk. Integrity is very important to me. I have known for a long time that revenge only leads to more problems so I'm not interested in punishment.
I don't think killing people solves anything. I do struggle with unconditional love vs consequences. I don't have a problem with insufficiency. I really like the concept of stewardship rather than ownership. I looking to divest myself of a lot of "stuff" by finding good homes for things that people will use. I am also acutely aware of limiting my time on screens and finding more face to face community.
Right now, from this course, I am practicing blessing everyone I pass on my bike ride in the morning; paying attention to what is not working and finding something that does; letting go of negative thoughts (stop self-poisoning), being the source of what is lacking in my life; paying more attention to the environment and nature; letting go of competitiveness - I DON'T NEED TO WIN is a big one for me.
I have been working transformation since my early twenties and am now approaching seventy years so there is not a lot of new stuff out there for me. More often it is a new way of looking at the same old thing or reminding myself how important gratitude is if I want joy in my life.
