When I started the Awaken the Species Quest, I was looking to grow spiritually and discover how I could positively contribute to the world. As I finished this program in January 2021, a great vision emerged through me to support the most ambitious music project being undertaken in Geneva for the past 50 years: the construction of the "Cité de la Musique" neighbouring the United Nations Office! https://citedelamusique.ch/ A referendum is due this week-end, 13th of June 2021. I had written my vision and had sent it to the board members of the Foundation back in January. They appreciated it so much that they got me in their Public Relations team. I wrote a press article in French to support the political campaign for this project. It was published on 4th of May 2021 in a leading newspaper in Geneva, the Tribune de Genève. https://www.tdg.ch/quand-la-musique-rassemble-549922938779 I posted this article on my Linkedin account and it has been read 1068 times as I write these lines! https://www.linkedin.com/posts/lise-colas-b571047_lettre-du-jour-quand-la-musique-rassemble-activity-6797797873619734528-C7Tj Since then, I noticed how politicians have been using my message to unite people around this project. Thus, I would like to share with you the English translation of the article that was also sent to the internal communication department of the United Nations Office. "Geneva is invited to vote for the Cité de la Musique on 13th of June. In this debate, let us talk about the power of learning and sharing. Nelson Mandela famously said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Let us give our artists the chance to flourish in a unique place of expression and creativity, because they need it, because they are entitled to it and because what they will give back to us will surpass our wildest dreams. The Cité de la Musique shall become a place of gathering and of expression for all artistic communities in the world, thus mirroring and working with its future neighbour, the United Nations Office. After extensive investigations, the unique place able to host this ambitious project lies at the heart of the global bodies working for world peace and the improvement of human living conditions. What a symbol! Music has the incredible power to bring us joy, to open our hearts and to touch our souls. Given the nature of the creations and gatherings that it will promote, the Cité de la Musique has an ultimate purpose far beyond music alone. Since the dawn of time, music has been a universal and timeless means of expression and gathering of human communities. Thought as such, the Cité de la Musique will also have the powerful ability to gather our people, to offer the human species the opportunity to experience its unicity and thus to actively spread peace and abundance amongst world's populations. Let us keep in mind that students, professors and performers of the future Cité de la Musique will travel all over the world, opening their hearts as well as worlds of deep emotion. The expression of these emotions may cause us to experience exuberant joy, or excruciating pain but either way, they have the potential and the power to unite us and make us grow. This incredible vision for this Cité uniquely places humankind at its heart. The positive intentions will radiate through all communities, the Canton of Geneva, Switzerland and the rest of the world. May this magnificent project come to life! Lise Colas, Pianist and specialist in Corporate Finance"
