"The quest teaches us that we, as leaders, have power with our team, not over it"
“Your job as a leader is not to lead as an individual but to foster the environment of co-elevation amongst your team". This is, for me, the essence of the Ultimate Leadership Quest. We’re living in a new era, where a lot of the old rules, on which we built our lives and society thus far, don't apply anymore. The same goes for the leadership models we use. The days when leadership was all about authority and hierarchy are becoming slowly, but surely, history. I love this new, human-centered, approach of “leading without authority” because it takes both the pressure and the praising off the leader and puts it on the entire team, in equanimity. It’s all about co-creation and co-elevation, rallying up around a common vision and mission and achieving it together, as a team. The bottom line the quest teaches us that we, as leaders, have power with our team, not over it.
