Psalm was my main spiritual teacher, my personal mentor, and my friend. She is missed so much in her physical form but her bold, bright, firey gitana soul will live on forever. She taught me things that go beyond words that only can be felt in my bones and in my core, but I will attempt my best to express what she taught me.
She taught me how to cultivate energy with my breathe so that I could feel my power.
She taught me how to then take that teaching and share it with countless of my clients to heal them and inspire them as well.
She taught me to be real with myself so that I could get to the root of my pain and heal others more deeply
She taught me to get clear with my vision and go after my dreams fully.
She taught me that magic was real because I saw it every time I looked at her, I saw it. She embodied shakti primal raw soul medicine.
She shared these words about the role of a guru.
“Here’s the thing about teachers and gurus- they inspire us. Guru means “one who points to the way”- they embody something you lack or desire. At first, you are like a baby, you need to be under the wing- just as a mother is the whole world to her baby- the mother is the milk and the life- the baby needs the mother’s connection but also needs to grow into a self sufficient adult. At some point you should integrate the practices from your teacher enough that you have the teacher and the practice living inside you, then the teacher becomes like a conscious inside you helping you to make your own decisions. A student is not meant to remain a child forever and if the teaching has been successful the student can be weaned to leave the nest and fly on their own. Of course many students are too afraid to take the leap out of the nest to individuate and many teachers hold their students from their own needs and never let them grow into fully independent beings. These are classic dysfunctions based in human development. The long term relationship between a student and teacher should be based on love not need. The student becomes a spiritual adult and continues the relationship only from the enjoyment of love.”— Psalm Isadora written Friday, September 6, 2013 in Barefoot Diary Blog.
She has pointed the way for me and thousands and her medicine will live on in each and every one of us. I now live with her teachings inside of me. All that is left is love. I love you and I know you are teaching us still through life and death, you are teaching us about the mysteries of the universe. Thank you for everything my teacher, mi gitana. Te amo para siempre.
