Before this program I would not have understood the difference between coaching and consulting. As a consultant in my current profession and as a parent of three children I always felt my role was to “fix” or “solve” problems.
Through this course, I have been able to recognize that coaching is about guiding the client inward and opening doors with questions that allow them to discover how they already contain what they need to fulfill their dreams and complete their goals.
In Western culture, the idea of service is centered around the notion that YOU are to center of someone else’s problems and YOU are a good servant when YOU take the burden from someone who is in need.
My life has always been guided by a burning to serve humanity. I’ve engaged the world in service through this paradigm of serving by doing for others what they have not been able to do themselves.
My heart is full with the knowledge that I am no one’s “savior” and this has not only healed massive parts of my soul but has set me on a course to serve in the most meaningful and effective ways we can in this life. The gift is in reflecting back to the other their Godlike potential. It's innate in every being. By taking on their tasks, I am actually doing more harm than good. By showing them their own light, I am healing the entire world and alleviating the false and the fear-based strategies of competition and gain over another. It has been an incredible journey to this point and I am forever transformed.
