I decided to take the Speaking Academy course because of Eric. The way he tells stories is exactly what I want. I want to be like him.
I think the best part of the Speaking Academy is that it boosted my confidence. This was the first time I thought about public speaking, and I remember the first day when I introduced myself. I told myself that I wanted to be on stage in the final, speaking in front of five hundred people.
But throughout the few days, I thought, "I probably couldn’t make it. I’m not confident enough." But surprisingly, something amazing happened. On the final day, I got some inspiration, told a few funny jokes, and made it into the final. I managed to speak in front of three hundred people, and this was something I never thought I could do in my life.
I'm an internal auditor, and I have to talk to a lot of clients and do many presentations. One of my dreams is actually to give a TED talk. That’s also one of the reasons I joined the Speaking Academy. I hope that one day I will be able to use this skill and stand in front of even larger crowds, maybe even for a TED talk.
