Before I started the Social Media Mastery Program, I had given up on the idea that social media could ever be used to help me connect with potential new clients or sell my book. My prior history with social media had actually resulted in censorship of my content back in 2020, so my reluctance to engage on all the popular platforms was deeply rooted in that experience. However, since most of my work with clients the past 6 years has taken place in the digital realm on Zoom, I knew I needed to break down my own self-imposed resistance to the digital world if I wanted to grow my reach.
My journey with Social Media Mastery began with the Summit. I devoured the content with intrigue, taking pages of notes and watching the replays multiple times. Knowing that so many of the living examples of success who presented at the Summit would also be teaching during the Social Media Mastery Program helped me decide to commit to this. The variety of teachers, content creators, influencers, and professionals in the social media field who Mindvalley has collaborated with to offer this program is amazing. Having access to these brilliant, supportive minds has shown me that I can learn what I don’t already know, AND I can offer my own brilliance to the world with confidence in my messages that are worth hearing!
The teachers and presenters in the live calls each week have been extremely caring, compassionate and patient with all the class attendees who are a variety of ages, races, cultures, professions, genders and levels of knowledge of and about creating content for social media. Their patience has really helped me to find the courage to get started creating my own content and posting it on multiple platforms. This was a huge step for me, and although my experience so far has only resulted in lots of exercise of my “rejection muscle” that’s important too!
What matters most is that I feel supported by a large community of novices like myself, experts, and everything in between, so my confidence has remained strong throughout the Level I portion of this program. I’m looking forward to the next Level where we are going to learn to implement what we’ve created, and I’m hoping to begin seeing some improvements as we get more opportunities to collaborate and work with each other to continue towards mastery of this social media world.
