I took the Social Media Mastery class believing that I would come out of it with a viral video. What I did get from the class was far more than that. I learned how to do video editing through Capcut, an app I was totally unaware of until this course. I also by taking this class and hearing about the many possibilities, invested in exploring AI, and now use InVideo to generate ads for my online courses in energy healing. One ad, helped increase attendance at the annual Wisdom of Reiki Conference I host at Omega Institute, which typically has 70 people for a weekend yet had 106 this past year, due in many ways I think to the ad I was sending out across social media that I created using AI.
Eventually, hearing about HeyGen through the Mindvalley Social Media Mastery course, I created an AI avatar of myself, attuned it to Reiki and programmed that AI avatar to be able to send Reiki (which some might think is creepy but holds the possibility for everyone to have their own personal AI Reiki energy healer available 24/7.) I then played that video on my social media accounts.
My fans were alarmed by me using AI this way, and some even hated me for it (or seemed to by their comments) but the main thing is this program was causing me to push beyond where I was comfortable, to in Star Trek terms “boldly go where no one had gone before”….or at least not me. I wish I could say that I have become an internationally known social media influencer. I have not, but what I have done is come to a far deeper understanding of the many layers of creating powerful social media content. I have grown, and have no regrets at all about taking this course, which was a full on commitment much like being in graduate school in terms of the time each week, plus the homework.
But, the most important thing this course did for me was in relation to my son. As he watched me this past year in the process of making videos and showing interest in videos, he now wants to create his own YouTube channel. And, he wants me to help him with it. Though I am clumsy with an iPhone, and not even close to being able to show the aptitude my son has for technology, I feel if nothing else this course has deepened my relationship with my son, who thinks I am a social media content creator and now wants to be like me, and create his own YouTube channel. I am so very grateful!
