Wow! What an adventure this class has been! I continue to be amazed by the people from all over the world and their many stories! My hat goes off to every one of the fantastic people I was blessed to meet throughout this journey.
My Story:
I noticed a disconnection between the c-suite and our teams about two years ago. This gap grew exponentially after COVID. We lost providers and members from every team. Without judgment, there was a definite shift in priorities that caused ongoing tension amongst all employees.
My heart broke over and over again as people quit or self-destructed. Everyone was getting increasingly frustrated, and the expectation gap grew greater and greater. Out of the blue, an employee came into my office to talk after her daughter was in the ER. She started the conversation with an off-the-cuff remark, "I have no one to share this with," this made me curious…was everyone feeling this way? Was everyone suffering in silence? Was this true at all levels of the company's organizational charts?
The answer for us was an overwhelming yes! Across the board, employees, providers, and patients all had unique experiences, thus embracing different coping techniques during the pandemic. Many became so self-reliant that articulating needs or concerns or even being open to building relationships at work needed to be encouraged and coached.
Evercoach, certified life coach training was an absolute blessing! It helped guide meaningful conversations with many, many employees. Because of these conversations, employees started trusting and talking! As a company, we embraced in-the-moment conversations and authentic relationships. Nothing goes unnoticed, regardless of who it is; if you are upset, we care enough to notice and acknowledge it and hopefully talk about it.
