Before this program I'd had years of training and coaching which brought me close to being a course-junky! It’s not as though I was wildly excited by every new and trendy thing that came my way at the tender age of 76! but I’d especially loved Evercoach, Mindvalley, the diversity and exceptional teaching provided, so I'd tended to fly through each one, and move on to the next . Have been a coach for approximately 4 years, therapist before that.
But…The Certification Life Coach has been something else! It has been more than a little significant and insightful for me. I'm feeling drawn to really do the work, join in with peer coaching, study and take all the available bonuses etc. In fact I began to really study seriously, as I’d not done before.
Suddenly I wanted to be not just a good coach but an extraordinary coach, not for myself so much, but to bring to the world the highest quality care and service.
So…Congratulations to all of you who set up this CLC training!
However on our last training we were asked to coach coaches through an emotionally charged situation., (Organise your Mind Part 2)
I took the role of coach as no one else was really coming forward.
Now on self-reflection I realise that there were huge gaps in my communication and questioning of the coachee. I did not really follow the process we were taught or really even get hold of the emotion of the coachee. I appreciated the great feedback regarding rapport and presence that I was given, but truly I believe I left the coachee with little in the way of insight into his situation.. Not good!
Following the session I discovered I felt disconcerted, rattled, troubled, and a bit uneasy.
So what I learned is that I’ve still a lot to learn! A lot to integrate into my system! Because I’m used to having one and a half hours at least when coaching, I truly messed up with only a 20 minute session. But I’ve learned that the way up is the only alternative, I simply have to improve! I appreciate that I can now clearly see my weaknesses here, and am willing to tackle them head on. I need to study and reflect more over all we are being taught, and I can and will.
This was the most incredible learning for me, nothing could have taught me, in the way that experience did! The coaching pods are incredible!
I am grateful for it, and am inspired to grow. Thank you so much for this opportunity for growth! especially being a ‘seasoned’ woman/coach !
